Sourcing
Our French linen shirts are cut from French linen and made in Portugal. They are where Espadon started, and the rest of the range was built around them. The linen is woven in France; the shirts are made in Portugal.
Our towelling polo and towelling shorts are also made in Portugal, in terry towelling made with organic cotton and post consumer recycled polyester.
Our cotton knitwear is knitted in Gujarat, India, from organic cotton yarn spun at Chenab Textile Mills — a spinner certified to GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and SA 8000. The factory that knits for us has been audited to SMETA four-pillar standard.
The garments are labelled 100% cotton. The knitting stage is not itself certified, so we document the yarn rather than round the claim up to the garment. That distinction matters and we would rather explain it than blur it.
Our linen knitwear, linen shorts and linen trousers are made in Bangladesh from 100% linen. They carry no certification and we make no claim about the origin of the flax.
Our organic cotton chino shorts, quarter zip and full zip hoodie are made in Bangladesh. Our full zip jumper is made in Pakistan. Our padded jacket and gilet are made in China from man-made fibres, and carry no environmental claim.
We hold certificates covering the mills and factories in
our supply chain and we will send them on request, per style. Where a style
carries no certification, it says so on the product page. We do not use the
word organic unless a document supports it.
