Trade terms

Espadon is a London menswear brand working in French linen and cotton, made in Portugal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and China. We sell to premium independents and considered department-store floors, and we are set up so that a first order does not have to be a commitment.

Minimum order

Twelve of our twenty wholesale styles have a minimum of one piece. Cotton knitwear made in India is forty pieces per colour per style. French linen shirting is one hundred and fifty pieces per colour to order, but it is held in stock, so a first order can be a single piece. There is no minimum order value on a first order.

Lead times

French linen shirting is in stock and ships within 48 hours. Linen knitwear and woven linen, two to three weeks. Towelling, cotton and outerwear, two weeks. Cotton knitwear, twelve weeks. Shirting restock, twelve weeks. We confirm the lead time on your order before you commit to it.

Prices and margin

Wholesale prices are quoted ex VAT and range from £38 to £64. Recommended retail includes VAT at 20% and runs from £115 to £190. Recommended retail is set at 2.5 times the ex-VAT wholesale price, giving a retailer margin of 60% at full price. Four cotton knitwear styles sit at 56.5% because we held the retail price at £160 rather than take it higher. Prices are held for the season.

Payment

Pro-forma on a first order, payable before dispatch. From the second order we are happy to discuss terms.

Carriage

United Kingdom — carriage free over £500, otherwise a flat £12. European Union — flat £25 per order, delivered duty unpaid; import duty and local VAT are payable by the receiving account. Our padded jacket and padded gilet are currently available for delivery within the United Kingdom only.

Faulty goods

Anything faulty is credited or replaced, your choice. Tell us within fourteen days of delivery and send a photograph — we will not ask you to return it first. Shortages and mis-picks are corrected at our cost. We do not sell on a sale-or-return basis and we do not place stock on consignment.

Markdown

Independents mark down in January and July and we would rather discuss it in advance than afterwards. Where a style has not performed, come to us before the sale and we will discuss support case by case. We ask that Espadon is not discounted outside those two periods, and not below 30% within them.

Exclusivity

We consider exclusivity by town, and grant it where it makes commercial sense for both sides rather than as a matter of course. If you are the right account in your city, ask.

Certification

Available on request, per style. Where a style carries no certification, it is stated on the product page.

How to order

Request the linesheet on our wholesale page and we will send it, with prices, the same day. Confirm your selection by email and we come back with stock, lead time and a pro-forma.
